Reverse the trend of being non committal in life and failing to back yourself up. Commit to get to know yourself deeply and learn to live on purpose

If you are stressed, consider somatic massage or somatic coaching and know that your body has a whole set of inbuilt ways to help you manage your inner states.

If you have a sense that you are skimming through life, breezing along the surface, non committal, not really sure you know yourself that well, not committing to anything other than showing up for life; and going about your business on the daily, but having a sense that you don’t really understand yourself that well, you can’t trust yourself, then know you’re not alone.

I spent decades of my life in that state, being disconnected from my body, from my anchor that is my body, from a true sense of self and I was non committal in every which way, right down to the basics.

It takes practise to reverse that trend and it is entirely possible. It begins with those little daily practices of making a commitment to the small things, such as if someone offers you a tea or coffee. You might have been one of those people who said "I’m not bothered", or you were asked what would you like for dinner and you’d say "I don’t mind" and really you weren’t that bothered, you didn’t really know you, didn’t have a sense within what you fancy - the tea or the coffee or what you’d like to eat for dinner.

And it’s conversely through these little daily practices and habits - if we can change those - if we can practise the pause and just hold off on a decision such as being noncommittal about what to eat for dinner, and instead taking a few moments to tune in and see what you really would fancy eating; or choosing committing to a tea or a coffee for instance.

It's through those daily practices of committing rather than staying non-committal that we grow that internal muscle, that we grow that sense of self that we start to develop an inner knowing and from these little practices it makes it easier when it becomes a case of having to be committed to a bigger decision, when we have to make bigger decisions for ourselves in life. We will have cultivated by then an inner knowing, an inner sense of self that we can then call upon.

Always practise the pause, always take a bit of time out to tune into your body and vet and see what comes up for you.

There’s a vast difference there between encouraging, cultivating, crafting this inner knowing, this inner gnosis where we have a sense of who we are then, because we’ve been committing all along to the little daily questions and conundrums;  so that when it becomes a bigger issue, we’re able then to really call upon that inner compass of ours and commit to the bigger decisions in life.
