Own your projections and take back your power!

We have no idea in truth what people might think of us - if we imagine what that might be, we are simply projecting and can end up hurting ourselves

If you are stressed, consider somatic massage or somatic coaching and know that your body has a whole set of inbuilt ways to help you manage your inner states.

If you feel sometimes that your mind is whirring, and the thoughts are often moreover about what other people are thinking about you, feeling about you and invariably they’re often negative - so you might be thinking oh, so and so thinks that about me and so so think that about me - then know that these are simply projections.

The bad news is that they’re often mean thoughts that we direct to ourselves but we project onto other people and then blame the other person and then we can feel like a victim, helpless, powerless and unable to do much, and then we’re swimming in this soup of negativity and feeling unsafe perhaps and not very good about ourselves.

If we can realise that these thoughts are our own thoughts, our own mean inner critic thoughts - this is the bad news. But the good news is that we can turn that around.

We can choose differently, we can take back our power, feel empowered by changing the script, changing our mind, having a bit of a giggle at ourselves, realising that those thoughts, those projections that we put onto other people are our own. And then just changing our mind with compassion, with kindness and deciding to have more positive, kind, compassionate thoughts towards ourselves.

So when we place that externally on the outside of ourselves, those mean thoughts, we can land up feeling helpless and unable to change that situation.

Instead, if we cultivate a compassionate inner environment and notice when that mean inner critic is abound, to just change that over and be kinder to ourselves -  that changes the whole internal dynamic and we bring back the focus to ourselves and we empower ourselves and can feel very differently.

So when you notice that occurring, I invite you to practise this and see what gives see what changes for you.
