VIDEO: How we can abandon ourselves mentally

We can abandon ourselves mentally. A good example of this would be the workaholic, somebody who focuses on their job intently with the aim to avoid feeling.

So good question to ask ourselves is, do I love my job, am I focusing on my job inordinately. There will be times when we have projects for instance, a lot of work on.

But there’s a subtle difference between that and purposefully, perhaps unconsciously becoming a workaholic and focusing on the job beyond all else.

This can be a subtle form of avoiding feeling, feeling aspects of ourselves or thinking about aspects of our past that we no longer wish to focus upon at all.

It can be a great strategy to move into the head literally and move away from the body and neglect aspects of ourselves, because it’s too uncomfortable to do so.

So, have a think where you might be abandoning yourself mentally by disappearing into the head. It’s a great place to hide out and avoid aspects of ourselves that are difficult and that might feel uncomfortable.
