We need to feel to heal

To heal we need to slow right down, to move from our mind and drop into the body

This may feel scary and the antithesis to what our mind is telling us, particularly if we have experienced trauma in the body. Indeed we may feel unsafe in the body and so camp out in the mind.


Through connection with another supportive human being, through co-regulation and leaning initially on their regulated nervous system if we are unable to regulate our own, we may come to learn to feel safe in our own body.


Thus expanding our window of tolerance, growing our resilience and coming to self regulate our own nervous system. Thus breaking the cycle of trauma triggering. Thus coming to feel safe at home within ourself. This is how Somatic Massage can support.
